Parking in Providence & at Rhode Island T.F. Green International Airport
Please note that Rhode Island has a hands-free driving law. Use of handheld wireless communication devices — like smartphones — while driving is prohibited. The law does allow for the use of in-car or hands-free accessories, such as Bluetooth.

Parking lots and garages can be found throughout Downtown Providence. Parking lots are available along Weybosset Street for easy access to the Providence Performing Arts Center. There are also plenty of lots and garages within blocks of great shopping.

On-street parking is also available in several downtown areas. Most on-street parking is metered parking, which allows you to park for a maximum of two hours until 6 p.m. and, in some areas, up to three hours between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. Quick Tip: once your time limit expires, you are not able to re-feed the meter.
You can find meters that allow up to four hours of parking on Chestnut Street between Pine and Clifford; Greene Street between Broad and Washington; Pine Street between Chestnut and Dave Gavitt Way (formerly Service Road 8); Eddy Street past the Garrahy Court House, and along Service Road 12; and on some spots on Broad Street between I-95 and Empire.
Metered parking is required between 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Saturday. Rates are $.25 for 12 minutes (or $1.25 per hour). Short-term parking at 30-minute meters costs $.25 for 10 minutes (or $.75 for a half hour). Be sure to check all parking areas for rules and regulations. Parking is free on Sundays.

Electric Vehicle Charging
Many Providence parking lots and garages offer electric vehicle charging stations, including the Rhode Island Convention Center. The RICC has several stations in both garages: North Garage (99 West Exchange St.), Level 4 (nearest the Omni Hotel); South Garage (1 Sabin St.), P2 at Street Level. Standard parking rates will apply upon entering the parking facility to charge your vehicle.

Rhode Island T.F. Green International Airport Parking
Rhode Island T.F. Green International Airport offers a variety of parking options for hourly and long-term parking. No reservations required. All airport parking features 24-hour staffing and lighting. "Bumper-to-bumper” shuttle service is available from Long Term Express Lot E to Arrivals and Departures, where drivers assist with luggage. Long-Term Express Lot E is the lowest priced on-airport parking at $17/24 hours. The closest covered terminal parking is located in Garage A at $32/24 hours. Garage B is $25/24 hours.

Directions to Providence
Downtown Providence is conveniently located off of Interstate 95. Travelers looking for assistance in planning their trip are invited to drop by the Visitor Information Center, located on the ground floor of the Rhode Island Convention Center.
From 95 North
Take Exit 37A, Downtown Providence. Follow the signs towards Downtown/Convention Center. At the light, turn right onto Francis Street. At the next light, turn right onto Sabin Street. You will find 15-minute parking available in front of the main entrance of the RI Convention Center.
From 95 South
Take Exit 37A, Downtown Providence. Follow the signs towards Downtown/Convention Center. Go through the first light in the right-hand lane. Continue to the second light, take a right onto Exchange Street. At the stop sign, take a right onto Exchange Terrace. Proceed straight through the next set of lights, bear left at the fork onto Sabin Street where you will find 15-minute parking available in front of the main entrance of the RI Convention Center.
