Spring has sprung, and with the new season comes so many ways to shop locally for great vintage. The season kicks off Saturday, April 28 when the Urban Vintage Bazaar returns to the historic Arcade Providence, at 65 Weybosset St. in downtown Providence. Hosted by Carmen & Ginger, the event features more than 16 additional vendors selling men's, women's and children's clothing, jewelry, accessories, linens, housewares, toys and games, cameras, artwork, and so much more! It again includes the "Vinyl Lounge;" a roomful of vendors specializing in vinyl records and more. The event is free, and takes place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., rain or shine. Grab a coffee or a spirit at New Harvest while you shop.
The following weekend brings the Saturday, May 5 return of the annual In Downcity Cinco de Mayo Block Party "Taco Fest," featuring the Providence Rock & Roll Yard Sale hosted by What Cheer Antiques + Vintage. Including many vendors of vinyl records, vintage and handmade goods, the event is also chock full of food vendors and live music to keep you shopping, eating and partying in the street all day long. The event begins at 11 a.m. through 6 p.m., and is free to attend.
And just when you thought you couldn't last one more day, The Providence Flea returns to South Water Street, beginning Sunday, June 5. Running throughout the summer until September 11, this event showcases the best of local vintage vendors and locally handmade artisans, along the Providence waterfront, with live music and an assortment of food vendors each Sunday. The event is free, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m, rain or shine!
