The highly anticipated event of the spring season in the RILGBT community happened a few short weeks ago at the Colosseum in downtown Providence – The Rhode Island Pride Triple Crown Pageant. A group of hopefuls tossed their hats in the ring at the chance of becoming Mister Gay, Ms. Lesbian or Miss Gay Rhode Island 2016. The preparation process takes months and it all leads up to one exciting day of competition. Each contestant is responsible for constructing a costume based on a theme – this year’s theme was “Wonderland.” They also take part in a private interview with the judges, perform a talent of their choice and answer a final onstage question presented by yours truly and LaDiva Jonz.

In the end, only three were crowned. Our congratulations go out to:

Mister Gay Rhode Island Joe DiMauro

Ms. Lesbian Rhode Island Ally P. Sha

Miss Gay Rhode Island Neoki Feytal

These three have an exciting year ahead and have so much already planned for you. Be sure to say hello if you see them on the town. It’s their time to shine and make a difference in the community!
