August will be heating up with some cool blues. The Rhode Island Blues Fest is kicking off its second annual two-day music festival on Aug. 10 and 11, which celebrates national and international blues performers. And better yet, it's free!
The festival takes places at Mulligan's Island and is jam-packed with performances. The parking lot opens at 11 a.m. on both days, and the gates open at noon. You can get a ticket voucher here to bring with you.
Saturday's Lineup:
1 p.m. — Cross Rhode Blues Band
3 p.m. — Heidi Nirk Band
5 p.m. — Ed Peabody & the Big Blue Thang
7 p.m. — Lois Greco Band
Sunday's Lineup:
1 p.m. — Chris Stovali Brown
3 p.m. — Travis Colby Band
5 p.m. — The Silks
Wes' Ribhouse will be on site with fresh barbecue for all to enjoy. Outside food is not permitted, but there will be plenty of options on site. Be sure to bring some sunscreen, blankets and lawn chairs to get comfy and listen to some amazing local blues artists.
