Chicken Scratch
Hi friends! Red here, with your monthly insight into great ways to Buy Local RI. June is one of my favorite months, because it has two of my favorite days — Father’s Day and the first day of summer. What better way to celebrate than with an al fresco beer or two? I’m partial to a red ale, myself, but with more than a dozen beer gardens and brewery patios in every corner of our little state, you’re sure to find a pint or two that ruffles your feathers.
Spring is in full swing, and it's the perfect time to grab your sunglasses and some friends and raise a glass to beer garden season! There's no shortage of options to soak up the sun and sip some suds in Providence and around the state.
The Guild PVD Beer Garden
The Guild PVD Beer Garden returns this summer by the Providence Pedestrian Bridge. You'll find a variety of beers brewed at The Guild's Pawtucket brewery, available to enjoy with unmatched views of the Providence skyline. There will always be at least one food truck during the week and multiple trucks on weekends for all your snacking needs. Open May through October, Wednesday and Thursday, 4–8 p.m.; Friday, 2–8 p.m.; Saturday, 12–8 p.m.; and Sunday, 12–6 p.m.

Additionally, Providence's only distillery, The Industrious Spirit Company, offers a lovely covered outdoor area where you can sip on creative craft cocktails and mocktails.

Relax With a Pint in Warwick
Apponaug Brewing Company's patio, with fire pits and a view of the Pawtuxet River, is a perfect spot for gathering with friends or family. Nearby Proclamation Ale Company is just minutes from Rhode Island International T.F. Green Airport, making it the ideal location to unwind after a long flight.
Sip and Shop in South County
Enjoy South County's laid-back vibe at breweries like Tilted Barn Brewery in Exeter, where you can enjoy a draft on the patio or lawn. Their weekly summer market brings in dozens of local vendors on Wednesday evenings June 5–Aug. 2, along with food trucks and local musicians, so you can grab a beer and stroll the market at the same time. Further south, Shaidzon Beer Company in West Kingston and Grey Sail Brewing in Westerly have patio seating and are planning lots of fun outdoor events for the spring and summer.
Grab a Brew at Beer Garden City in Cranston
