Graduation season begins across Rhode Island this weekend, bringing thousands to the state to celebrate commencements. Welcome to everyone visiting their graduates. To help plan your trip to Providence, we put together a quick list and links of things to do to celebrate your grad in the city.

Providence has an immense and diverse culinary scene. You can choose from plenty of delicious restaurants, but be sure to make a reservation because they will book up quickly. If you're in the heart of the city, dine at one of our delicious downtown restaurants. Interested in checking out one of Mario Batali's favorite Little Italys? Make a reservation at one of our Federal Hill restaurants. If you're spending your time taking in Providence's early history, reserve a table at one of our East Side restaurants. No matter what you choose, you can't choose wrong!
Book a Show
Celebrate your big day by going to see a show at one of the amazing venues downtown. Trinity Repertory Company, Providence Performing Arts Center and the Dunkin' Donuts Center have great events happening all the time. There's no shortage of fabulous performing arts in Providence.
Take a Tour
Even though you've been to the city plenty of times on Parents Weekends, there's always something to learn. Providence River Boat Company takes you on a boat tour of the Providence River, where you'll see the city from a new view. You can also take a self-guided East Side Walking Tour to learn the history of the city. There's plenty more where that came from! Providence has a long list of available tours and excursions.
Shopping Spree
Treat your grad to a spectacular shopping spree. Check out the Arcade Providence on Westminster Street, or choose a wonderful boutique on North Main Street. Providence Place has plenty of stores to choose from as well. If your style is more "classic," you might be interested in shopping vintage. Regardless of your shopping preferences, there are plenty of places for shopping in Providence.
